Weekly Work Log

This weekend I have accomplished a lot for our project. First, I created a website template for a website that my partners and I will be working on to display everything we know and have researched. I made 3 pages for the website, "what is deforestation", "what can you do to help deforestation?" and a "pictures/videos" page. I then spent the week writing text to fill these pages. This also involved more in depth research on the topic of deforestation. I also went and purchased two 3 ft. Ficus trees, which we will be planting next week. It won't make a big difference on plant-life in San Diego, but every little thing helps and hopefully it will influence more action. We met with Spencer and also tried to resolve some ongoing group issues.
What Maya did this week was work on the science outline. Our presentation will be done on the subject of Co2 and Carbon Dioxide and how that relates to trees and helping the world.

Weekly Work Log

This week my partners and I have worked hard to pursue our personal duties for our project, as well as group obligations such as to get trees. On Tuesday, I was sick and at home but I managed to finish the outline for our documentary script which involved the narration and what kind of images we would need. Then on Wednesday we met with Spencer and each got our respective assignments. The rest of the day I spent finding pictures for our documentary, which was my personal assignment. I also helped Priscilla look for numbers to call the city for tree donations. Maya worked on creating our powerpoint on the science aspect, and Priscilla called different people for tree donations. On Thursday we all headed over to the Walter Anderson Nursery, however we found out the bus doesn't go down a street that we needed to use to get to the nursery. So on Friday, Priscilla and I went back to the nursery at lunch and asked questions about which trees would be best to use, the size of them, the cost, etc. We also asked the manager about donations and he referred us to a lady named Karen Thatcher who we can contact about donations. The rest of the day we spent working on our assignments.
